Ultimate Knowledge From TK
November was one of the most busiest month for Philippine Ultimate Images last year. Besides the most memorable Manila Spirits to date, PUI, with the help from the Philippine Flying Disc Association, had the privilege to cover a five city tour Ultimate Frisbee clinic by one of the most influential and great ambassadors of the sport, Tyler Kinley.
As a player, Tyler a.k.a "TK" is a dominant Handler Defender. Guarding top handlers in the business and making their lives on the field miserable. His quickness, insane throws and knowledge of the game makes him one of the greatest players. Though he is a bonafide monster on the field, he is also one of the nicest gentleman you'll ever meet off the field.

This is TK's first visit in the Philippines, and not like some other visitors that I met, Tyler is up for anything. From eating in a public wet market, to riding Jeepneys embracing the dusty Philippine roads, trying out and braving Balot and Durian in just one night. Having a blast battling the white waters of Cagayan De Oro. Taking shots of our very popular liquid gold. Hanging out all day and night with the Ultimate community around the country. Tyler is a trooper.

And when it's game time. When it's time to share the Ultimate knowledge, TK is a Guru. A mentor that is willing to share everything that he knows about the sport. I had the privilege to experience how he taught people about Ultimate Frisbee five times, in five different cities, in five amazing days. It was a rare opportunity that I couldn't pass up. The five city tour was a memorable one. We spend time with the Ultimate community in Iloilo, Davao, Iligan, Cagayan De Oro, and lastly we had a chance to chat with our very own, Team Pilipinas in Manila. Five different cities with five different approaches and results in the end. It was exciting, fun, emotional, sad, everything. The team foundation exercise was my favorite part of the clinic, where every city (Team) had the chance to identify what their team foundation is. Everyone was so in to it. It was awesome.
TK is also one heck of a travel photographer. During our spare time, we talked a lot about photography. He showed me a lot of amazing images from his travels around the globe. Gave me great advices on what I should do in my career in photography. Yes, he really is great in giving those kind of stuff!. Besides coaching, teaching and sports commentating, I think TK should consider travel photography. And have you seen my little photo project about basketball hoops called "Shoot Hoops"? Yeah, TK made me do it! Check out his Instagram. He has some really amazing stuff there! (www.instragram.com/herecomeskinley)
It was one of those ultimate experiences I had that I will cherish for a very long time. Hanging out with one of the legends of the game, learning a lot from him and becoming friends with him is definitely the best part of the trip. Meeting him is one thing, but knowing that he is just the same as us, even though he is one of the great ambassadors of the sport, my respect to him is beyond measure. It is quite inspiring, really. Thanks, TK!
Until then... More images to share. More stories to tell... It's All About U!
See you all in Ilocos for the 2016 Sun Soaked Beach Ultimate!
