One Question (WCBU 2017)
What WCBU athletes say when you ask this one question:
What are you looking Forward to in WCBU 2017?
"I'm looking forward to competing at the highest level of Beach Ultimate and can't wait to see how we match up against the rest of the nations.
I'm honored to be leading the first women's team to represent Singapore at WCBU, and really excited about the experiences the girls are going to gain. I feel this is the catalyst for growth of Singapore's beach ultimate community and development for split gender ultimate in this little red dot we call home!
Also, can't wait to consume copious amounts of French wine, cheese and pastries"
-Emily Gunawong. Singapore Women National Team
"What I'm most looking forward is to see all the people and friends that I've met around the world coming together in the same place to showcase their love and handwork they've put into this amazing sport.
I'm also excited to see how good Portugal Mixed National can really be in the big stage because this is the best National Team I've ever been part of.
I know that the competition will be the fiercest we've ever faced but we've never backed down from a challenge. We also have our main coach Pedro Vargas that, besides being a bad ass player, has the best mind for the game. He understands Ultimate like no other you've ever seen. He'll know how to get the best performance out of us."

"I'm excited to play Ultimate on the beach in France with my friends and the greater Ultimate community that I love so much. It doesn't get much better than that! I'm grateful for the opportunity to represent the US on the world stage, and I'm looking forward to creating and fostering positive and respectful relationships with other teams from around the world."

"Playing spirited, high level ultimate in a beautiful place!
Can't wait!!!"
-Jonathan "Goose" Helton. USA Open National Team
"It sounds like a cliche but ultimately, I'm looking forward to representing the Philippines again in the world stage of Beach Ultimate. I still remember the feeling 2 years ago when we matched as the one country, one team, with one of my hands holding the Philippine flag. It was such a surreal moment!
I'm looking forward to playing against the other 11 other countries whom I'm sure we will all learn from. We've been training for months and you'll never really know how good you are or if your play would work, until you're in the competition. So I'm looking forward to finding that out as well!"
-Mitzi Canafranca. Philippine Women Masters National Team
"Opening day! This year's beach worlds is much bigger and it will be interesting to see the competition for the first time. And of course to see old friends and hopefully make new ones. Also, walking into the stadium when they call Team Philippines. The experience is just really surreal. It gives me goosebumps whenever I think about how it was like in Dubai."

"As much as this may seem too open ended or ambiguous, I am most looking forward to the camaraderie, bonding, community, and experience and atmosphere of the event. Bringing so many amazing frisbee players and people from around the world together and share in something special and meaningful in an encouraging, uplifting, and challenging way. The chance to foster new fledgling relationships and friendships while also having the opportunity to rekindle and grow other relationships from years past. Not just with those from other countries, but even with my teammates. Spending a week purely focusing on growing closer, better, stronger together. During such tumultuous times, it is nice to come together for something that is inherent to all of us, love."
-Brett Matzuka. USA Open National Team
"I'm looking forward to see old friends, to meet new friends, to play against the best team/country in the world of ultimate
And of course to celebrate my 10th year as a player of Boracay Dragons along side with old and new teammates."
-Xtian Guerrero. Philippines Open National Team
"As a young player, i am really looking forward to playing with the best of the best from my country and the other countries of the world and learning as much as I can from them this upcoming WCBU. I've always idolized these players and It's been my dream to play with them, so this whole experience is really such a huge honor for me! Nothing less than a dream come true"
