The Bond Between Us: Japan-Philippines

When you have the opportunity to learn from the best, you will do everything you can to grab that opportunity. You will make every minute of that experience worth it. Treasure everything that you have learned, and apply it with all your heart to achieve your goal. The Philippine Womens National Team did that last weekend.

When you have the opportunity to share your knowledge to someone. Sacrificing your precious time in order for others to be successful, expecting nothing in return, is definitely the most admirable and inspiring thing that a human being could give to someone. Coach Yuki Mori and Team Captain Yuko Suzuki of the Japanese Womens National Team did that last weekend.

Coach Yuki and Yuko came to the Philippines to learn English in Cebu city. As both of them are great leaders of the Japanese National Team, they were also great students of the English language, communicating pretty well with the Binibinis during the two day clinic at Cuenca Field, Alabang. Teacher Yu and Ayumi did an awesome job on that one.

That was the reason why they are here in our country. Both Yuki and Yuko are just too kind and generous. Spreading the sport all throughout Asia is their main goal, they offered to give our Womens National Team a two day, eight hour Ultimate Frisbee clinic last weekend, and not expecting anything in return except pure friendship and good relationship between the two countries.

Rock hard playing field, heavy thick dust covering the whole area, and the scorching heat of the sun heats up the entire Cuenca Field in Alabang. It gives us the impression that we are not in Alabang anymore. But Yuki and Yuko patiently worked with the Binibinis the whole weekend with smiles on their faces, having a great time doing what they both love. Spreading the ultimate knowledge.

The Binibinis did their part to be great students. They listened, they observed, they executed. And it showed on the second day how they improved dramatically. Yes, there are still some parts of the team that needs to be polished, but they sure worked as a team, and battled together to reach the level where they are now.

To Coach Yuki and Yuko, your selfless act of generosity and kindness are beyond measure. It only shows how good a person you both are and how wonderful the Japanese Ultimate community truly is. I am now a fan. Looking forward to seeing you both again... wherever that may be. Thank you very much!

To our Binibinis, big respect to each and everyone who braved the unforgiving heat and dust combo last weekend for the sake of learning and working hard for the team. I can't wait to see you ladies again, executing all the things that you have learned last weekend and wearing the colors of our flag with great love and pride. Saludo ako sa inyo.

Big thanks to Akira Yamaguchi for your continued support for Philippine Ultimate. Karen Cabrera for making this weekend of learning and friendship possible. We would also like to thank Akihiko Yoshida and Takashi Kanzaki for the support. Mister Yu and Ayumi, Thank you!

And to all of us, There's nothing else that we could do right now but to give our support to these ladies. They worked so hard for this, sacrificing everything for the sake of representing our country in the ultimate world stage. I've seen them work this weekend. They battled the heat, they got hurt, but they never backed down. They stood up, and worked harder. And they need all the support that they can get.

Cheer them on!

Until then. More stories to tell. More Images to share. It's All About U!
